Tour routes and content were developed by Maury Nicely in his book, Chattanooga Walking Tour and Historic Guide.

Ross’ Landing was located on the northern edge of the Cherokee Nation. After the Cherokee removal, it became the center of the new city of Chattanooga, and the site continues to be a prominent one, functioning as a hub of the city’s cultural and recreational attractions. Many of Chattanooga’s history stories are connected to the place, or to sites that can be visually referenced from it. The tour will include stops at two of the twelve new Civil War Trail markers recently installed in the Chattanooga area.
