The History Center, with the assistance of LaPaglia & Associates, has begun the process of creating a comprehensive master plan that will chart the Center’s path as we develop an institution uniquely suited to connecting both residents and visitors to the past, present and future of this place.
LaPaglia & Associates specializes in the development and expansion of museums. Their past projects include The Louisville Slugger Museum, the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the National Civil War Museum. Over the course of the next two years, the firm will work with CHC on conceptual development, interpretive planning, exhibit development, project management, and construction. As a first step in this process, LaPaglia facilitated four focus group meetings during the week of March 15th. Participants included History Center board members and long-time supporters, representatives from other cultural organizations and local government, community leaders and participants in previous downtown development projects, and CHC program participants. Each brought ideas that spurred exciting conversations about the future.
