202 Youngsters Compete in the 2008 Southeastern Tennessee Regional History Day

HC hosted the 2008 Southeastern Regional Tennessee History Day on Saturday, March 1 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Student Center. Two hundred and two students from the five-county region competed for awards in exhibit, documentary, essay, website and performance categories. The theme of the 2008 competition was Conflict and Compromise. Top winners in the junior and senior divisions earned the privilege of advancing to the state History Day competition in Memphis, where another set of winners will be selected for the national level of competition to be held in Washington, DC. A special award for the teacher with the most students earning top placement awards in the competition was presented to Danny Gaddy of Lookout Valley Middle and High School and Tyner Middle Academy.
